Ground Work Training
The Building Blocks to a Great Partnership
“Training horses is like building houses, you have to have strong foundations to build the perfect house!” Jason Webb
Groundwork cannot be underestimated – from the way we catch and lead a horse, to the more advanced skills of longlining to liberty work.
The majority of our groundwork is based around the following:
- Foals, yearlings and two year olds for basic groundwork to make them safe and controllable
- As an important part of the starting process for young horses
- Work on behavioural issues such as barging, aggression, leading, loading, foot handling and catching
- Developing collection, lateral work and flexion during close contact lunging
- Teaching handlers basic ground work skills in order to handle their horses safely with confidence
- Teaching handlers advanced groundwork skills such as round pen work, longlining, liberty work
